Spring

Winter never seemed to make it here this year.  I've not planted anything, yet, I as kept waiting for winter to show.   However, I think I can now officially announce that Spring has arrived in Orlando!  Here are some photos from lunch today when I took the opportunity to escape the climate-controlled office and walk down to Lake Eola.

A swan and her ibis friends...

This poor ibis thought we had some food for him, but sadly, we didn't :-(

Geese and swans living in harmony...

My walking buddy, Suzanne - I took this one to show how big the swans are.

A nesting mama swan...

The best shot I could get of her babies... they were very cute, but hard to shoot!

Mallard ducklings...

A couple of office shots before we left - Here's Dianna and Virginia mugging in front of the general...

Here's Steffanie manning the front desk.

No lake tomorrow as we are taking Steff out for her birthday.  We are lunching at Terrace 390.  If you followed the Casey Anthony trial, it was a favorite of sleazy Jose Baez and the Anthonys.  Hopefully, they won't be there tomorrow or the next photo I post may be my mug shot!

Corner View "..."

Corner View is a weekly appointment - each Wednesday - created by Jane and currently curated by Francesca, where bloggers from all corners of the world share their view on a pre-arranged theme. ...things that I find amusing...

The Rueben... not to be confused with the more traditional Reuben...

This one really baffles me... the fanciest bus stop seating ever?!...

I mean no disrespect here, but I find a combo Carpet and Blinds Store/Church funny...  Do people go in and say, "I'd like eternal life and can you show me something in a berber?"...

Again, no disrespect meant... I guess if you have enough faith, you don't have to be able to spell it?  (Oddly enough, faith is spelled properly on the other side of the sign.)...

On an unrelated note, 4 of the lumps removed from Chip were benign.  The other 2 were cancerous, but they got all of the cancerous tissue and he won't need any other treatment for now!

HAPPY CORNERVIEWING!

When you feed as many animals as I do, three dogs and three cats, this is the type of market you visit most.

Corner View - Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue

Something old... one of my favorite photographs - my mom (left) and my late Aunt Madeline when they were girls.

Something new... two books that were recently delivered - one by the husband of our fearless leader, Francesca.

Something borrowed... the Bunco Babes bag borrowed from our "captain" as it is my turn to host Bunco this month.

Something blue... a gray-blue sky full of sea gulls.  (Taken in the parking lot of the Dollar General, not the beach!)

My Chipper

He's dopey, but Chippernicus is doing well and recovering from his surgery.   Please keep your paws crossed that the masses that were removed are benign.

Sunrise behind my house...

Sunlight throught the Spanish moss...

The man who could be the light of my life... Scottish actor James McAvoy.  (Yes, all that AND a gorgeous brogue...)
